RULE CLARIFICATIONS
Clarification of pitching rules in a suspended game:
In a game suspended by darkness, weather or other causes and resumed the
following calendar day, the pitcher of record at the time the game was halted
may continue to the extent of his/her eligibility provided he/she delivered 40
or less pitches, and subject to each of these conditions:
A. A player may not pitch in more than one game in a day.
B. If the pitcher delivered 20 or less pitches before game was suspended
pitcher's pitch count will began at zero for the continuation of the game.
C. If the pitcher delivered between 21 and 40 pitches before the game was
suspended, that pitcher's count will begin with the number of pitches delivered
in that game.
D. In a game suspended and resumed more than one calendar day later, B. & C.
apply unless the pitcher of record pitched in another game in between. Since we
are double elimination, that will not happen. Each game must be completed before
next game is played.
Clarification of Substitution Rule:
Starters do not have to complete their mandatory play before being removed
for a substitute. However, once a starter re-enters the game, he/she cannot be
removed until he/she completes mandatory play.
